Fly Fishing Guide School

The professional fly fishing guide school at Salvelinus is a seven-day all-inclusive program in the Spanish Pyrenees, an area characterized by the variety of waters and species, ideal for mastering diverse fly fishing techniques. Students are fully immersed in fly fishing, from fly tying and entomology, to communication skills and guiding techniques. The program, designed to provide the skills and techniques needed to get a head start in fly fish guiding, has been entirely developed by Iván Tarín, Head of Guides and founder of Salvelinus.

5,500 EUR per week
Mid-March – Mid-June

The fishing season begins on March 1st when rivers are at their lowest water levels. The second half of May and first half of June are ideal for high mountain fly fishing and golden stonefly hatches.

Mid-June – Mid-August

Summer is the time of year for spending time outdoors in the Pyrenees because they are spared the stifling heat that can hit the flatlands. Expect good hatches in freestone rivers.

Mid-August – Mid-September
Late Summer

At the end of summer, average temperatures in the Pyrenees start getting crispier although not yet cold — an excellent time for targeting a large variety of species and waters.

Mid-September – Late November

Autumn is many people’s favorite time of year in the Pyrenees. Long spells of stable sunny weather and optimal fishing options in high and low river courses including tailwaters.
