How To Arrive?
The lodges are located about three hours driving from Barcelona International Airport.
All Salvelinus programs include ground transfers from/to Barcelona to/from lodge.
When is the best time to come?
From early March to end of November, you will be fishing at different elevations, from 600 to 7800 feet ASL, to enjoy comfortable weather conditions and great fishing opportunities. Each month from March to early October offers specific hatches for dry fly fishing. Late October and November bring great fall fly fishing opportunities. June to mid-October are the best months for backcountry fishing and heli fly outs.
Should I bring gear?
Salvelinus provides ALL waders, boots, premium rods & reels, and all necessary flies, and terminal tackle.
What if I never fly fish before?
This is an ideal destination for those new to trout fishing looking for a week of detailed, on-water instruction. Fly casting lessons in English and optional fly fishing schools are available and can be included, if desired.
Is there internet access?
There is internet access in all accommodations included in Salvelinus programs.
What is included in my trip?
Salvelinus offers all-inclusive first class travel. Once you begin your journey, you would not have to worry about anything. Transfers, full board accommodation, food, drinks, guided activities, permits, licenses, and equipment. Plane tickets and gratuities are the only exceptions.
What is the wading like?
The variety of scenarios provides different wading options from semi-flat riverbeds that allow easy wading to slippery freestones that are fully manageable with studded boots. Technical wading is not required.
Trips to the Pyrenees are usually quite logistically challenging, especially if there are non-anglers in the group and or you are doing more than one location on your Spanish holiday. These kinds of logistically complex trips are no problem at all for Salvelinus.
Another wonderful feature of the experience at Salvelinus is that everything is included in the price, including all meals and drinks, including local wines with lunch and dinner. The only extra is a gratuity for the guides and staff.
Good company – culture – food –and fishing (“CCFF-top”) that is a wonderful combination (not necessarily in this order … )
